Danny
Beach is a rare phenomenon - a performer who doesn't get dry
and technical in the recording studio. There's an interactive feeling to
every song on this CD. You can sense, if not see, that Danny, a powerhouse
performer in person, is giving it his all. He puts emotion into every word
and guitar lick, without sacrificing precision.
Danny retired a while back after 30 years with the Washington, D C Fire Department and has now moved to Florida where he spends most of his "free time" playing music. His interests range from singing covers of everything from rock to country to blues in the local Tiki bars, to pounding out righteous traditional sounds with his group, the South Beach Bluegrass band. He stays plenty busy. This CD is the culmination of several years of
planning and some spontaneous last minute lucky shots, in collaboration
with old friend and Patuxent Records producer Tom Mindte. "Tom has
some amazing musicians around him," Beach says. With that talent
on hand plus some of Danny's music buddies in the D C area, the CD finally
came together. --Barbara Bamberger Scott |
